Terribly sick

I finally had to go through this pain during pregnancy.... Fever + Throat Infection + Flu + Phlegm + Running nose + Warm body...... countless......
It started on Thursday 18/9 morning and I waited till 230pm to see company's panel doctor, well, I thought I could wait........ but when the clock showed 12pm, I was already almost dying in office...... it was getting more serious.
Anyway managed to wait, and got panadol, antibiotic and lozenges from the doctor and my MC for Friday. I left office at 3.30pm, leaving a note to my both my bosses.
While at home, I straight away soaked myself under my comforter and slept. Almost 6-7pm, I was terribly HOT, sweating...... and then also i could felt BB kicking. I was very worried that BB was also feeling as hot as me. So I am very regret now that I actually soak myself to sweat.
I wasn't getting any better even on Friday. In fact on Friday afternoon I was feeling slightly better but by evening, it strike again. Mr Daddy got me to see a nearby Gynae (Megah Specialist Center) to confirm BB's condition and Thank God, BB is alright. The Gynae adviced me that I'm able to take panadol of not more than 1g/dose and not exceeding 4g a day. Lozenges is safe to be taken, but put the antibiotic aside, as not necessarily needed.
Actually I was also taking panadol only with very low dose and one-two lozenges.
The gynae also assured me I should be feeling better on Sunday. And I should be lowering down my body temp with wet cold cloth, short bath, clearing throat with honey and drink more fluid.
Today is Sunday and I do feel better except my sore throat now turns to running nose and having on and off headache.
I'm glad it's going to be over..... it was terribly uncomfortable and uneasy.............

I felt BB movements!!!!

Today 15th Sept, at between 3-4pm, I was sitting in KLM's auditorium listening to a workshop by Prismark.
I felt something alike wind in the tummy - slightly above the belly button, on the right.
However it came constantly few times and I was pretty sure that's BB's movements. :)
When it came more consistent, I put my palm on the spot and my palm felt the movement, like soft tapping/punching - twice in splits seconds. :)
It lasted 5-10mins.

As I'm typing this, 10.21pm, I'm feeling it again. :) So happy. :)
Now Mr Daddy's palm is on my tummy. He felt it too. :)
Now the movement is on the lower right of the tummy.

BB 5th ultrasonic scan - week 20+

Visited Dr Wong again for the monthly antenatal check.
This time BB is about 20weeks.
The ultrasonic scan now shows clearly BB's internal organ, and BB is also growing and one spot scan cannot get the full BB image.
During this scan, we see the full structure of BB and Dr commented the internal organs are all OK. Both Dr and MrDaddy also observes BB grasp her fingers (open/close) while moving her hand near to her ear/head.
I was hoping to see BB's face however this week, BB was lying face down in the womb. No chance to see.
We ask Dr for the gender again and Dr confirms again - BB girl. :)

After the check up, Dr made some measurements and concluded BB's weight is now about 350g, which is normal. :)
Dr says since I'm quite thin originally, then the ultrasonic scan this time reveals the internal organs of BB clearly enough for him to do the checkups. So I am not scheduled to do check up at Damansara Fertility Center HQ at Uptown. Initially Dr say in 5th month or so, a thorough checkup of BB organ would need to be done in HQ as they have more sophisticated machine there. But this week's checkup tells him I don't have to go to HQ.

I'm prescribed Sangobion and calcium pills.
Dr also recommended to take some fish oil tablet supplements. The brand which he recommended is NeurogainPB. It is up to my own choice if i want to take this supplement.
I decided to, so I bought a bottle from him at Rm56.
(then at home, after some research, I decided only to start the supplement next month. :) the fish oil is actually containing DHA, AHA etc for BB's brain development).

Stretch mark lotion & Headphone

Several weeks ago, I've got the stretch mark lotion/cream to apply on my expanding tummy. There are several brands available but I chose Palmers Cocoa Butter.
Anyway I bought a trial pack first just in case I might be sensitive to Palmers.
The pack above consist of 6 items - trial size.
Price about RM20.
I'm applying the cocoa butter every night time. Sometimes in the morning.
Nightly, MrDaddy will be applying it on my tummy, then at the same time talk and sing to BB.
Most often he sings Barney's song. haha...... :)

Also, MrDaddy got a headphone and loaded classical musics into the MP3.
Nightly, the headphone will be on my tummy and BB listens to about 3 pcs of classical music. :)
Perhaps later we'll try to record our own voice and let BB listens. :)

Baby movements

I haven't felt BB movements, now that I'm in my 19-20 weeks.
I hope this is normal as references says the movements should be felt starting 20weeks.

From babycenter.com :

When should I start to feel my baby move?

You probably won't feel your baby kick until sometime between 16 and 22 weeks, even though he started moving at 7 or 8 weeks and you may have already witnessed his acrobatics if you've had an ultrasound.

Veteran moms tend to notice those first subtle kicks — also known as "quickening" — earlier than first-time moms. (A woman who's been pregnant before can more easily distinguish her baby's kick from other belly rumblings, such as gas.)

Your build may also have something to do with when you'll be able to tell a left jab from a hunger pang. Thinner women tend to feel movement earlier and more often than women who carry more weight.

Sandals

I got a pair of this Auntie like sandals from Bata yesterday.

Dilemma......

...........Confinement lady vs MIL vs indo Maid vs bbsitter..........

Two cases :

1) during confinement
MIL vs confinement lady
MIL + Maid vs confinement lady

2) later stage
MIL vs bbsitter
MIL + Maid vs bb sitter.

Need to note, MIL is not that strong.

Some thoughts......

1) During confinement.
Maid is surely out of question lah if you expect her to cook for you and jaga your baby.
If your baby is very susah type, you don't want her to strangle it right ?
If your MIL is not the strong type, you also don't want to burden her.
If she falls sick half way, you want all your in-laws to blame you ?

Solution is only confinement lady.

2) Later stage
MIL : how much are you going to pay her per month ? Whatever amount you pay, you think it's enough ?
If she has different way of bring up a kid, are you going to "sound" her and end up having conflict with her ?
Maid : you have heard of all the scary stories. You just have to pray that you get a "good" one. But how much can you trust them ?
If you have one staying in your house, you don't have privacy.
If you want to go out, you either let her stay at home or tag along.
Loose freedom.
If you take a young one, maybe no experience to look after baby.
If you take one with kids, maybe always thinking about her children & home sick.
Only advantage is you get someone to do your housework. Quality wise--still again depends on your luck.
Baby sitter : depends on how well you know her family background & quality of service.
Child care : got any around your place ? Maybe better since later on can learn something at the center. But may have strict pick up time.
