BB 9th ultrasonic scan - week 34

Was called for a more regular check up starting now onwards, so this week was only 2weeks apart from the previous check up.
BB is now measuring at 2.3x kg and all goes well. I'm glad.
By measurement, BB's head circumference is 36weeks size.
This time around, Dr somehow managed to position the ultrasound scanner so that I could see BB's full face. However it was only a short while and not clear.
Very excited to see the full face !!!!!

On my side, I have hit the margin of 15kg weight gain. :(
Dr says don't worry too much on that as first pregnancy some women even have 20+ kg weight gain. Most importantly is BB's growing well.
For my growing fat fingers, Dr says its due to water retention and he mentioned a term, which I don't recall...... he suggested to take more calcium supplement from now one. So daily I'll take twice the pills. It's 300mg per pill.

Confirmed with Dr, he will be away for 3days during CNY (to Penang). It will be 2nd day of CNY till 4th day of CNY. When he is away and if BB comes that time, he'll call another Dr Wong in Sunway hospital to deliver BB. I hope this will not happen. He also said don't worry as most likely BB will come earlier......... I REALLY hope so.

One dissappointment this visit....... Dr did not hit PRINT to print out BB's scan picture. :(
Next visit is 30thDec, two weeks from now.
Dr will do internal checks in ww37 to confirm delivery options and if BB would be arriving early.
My next visit is when I'm 35-36weeks. Not sure if Dr would do the internal check then ?????

S.t.r.e.t.c.h. markssss!!!!

I finally spotted stretch marks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is below my big tummy, above bikini line. Actually Daddy has told me few weeks back but my reply to him then was those marks are the pants rubber mark, till last week, I tried looking in mirror myself (in an awkward position, somehow i managed to see).

Is it too late to apply anti stretch mark creams now ?

Aching

Lately... every part of the body feels uneasy.... even the fingers are like getting hard. haha....
Sleeping is kinda torture if the back of chest aches.... ends up getting sleepless nights and zoombie the next morning at work.
Wish to have MC all the way till delivery...... WISH!!!
BB's movement is getting significant. She has been listening to classical musics especially Mozart's. I haven't try putting a rock or hiphop for her. Ppl say BB could be kicking even more if this are played to her.

BB 8th ultrasonic scan - week 32-33

Another BB's scan. Again can't see full face. Asked Dr.... he says 2D's are mostly like this, yet BB is very near to the womb's wall, hence the scan will show such.
BB is now 1.9kg in this week.
Dr predicted at born could be 3.5kg..... wow....... :)

BB's bag - Daddy's bag

Anxious Daddy packed the bag ready to greet BB in hospital. :) Bought this bag at BBJaya. The front is plastic casing. hmm, can't recall the price but it isn't too expensive like other backpacks available in other stores. It's about RM55-RM59.
On the other hand, mom's hospital bag is TOTALLY NOT READY YET!!!!! :p

Elephant leg...... :(

Puffy, soft on my feet now...... hope it won't grow too much. hehe.....
I start to see water retention in 7th month.
Can't help much..... still eating out, salty food.......

Snow Jelly - first time cooking

Advised by mom to take this.... so went to buy, RM28.50 for 10g. I cooked about 5g and it is good to serve two. Added egg to make it less smell. Taste GREAT!!!

My tummy at week 31/32

So much like a big balloon now..........

3rd trimester

I have been into 3rd trimester for almost a month now. Well, it is very true.... 2nd trimester is the honeymoon period. Now I'm tired easily and backache strikes. The backache which I experience is right behind my chest. So when I'm seated in office, in car or even sleeping in straight position, it is uncomfortable or I'll get tired.
My tummy grows even bigger now. I wonder I could still balance myself till term. hehe....
BB's kicking is getting often now and practically active while I'm in office, mostly after lunch and at night when I'm sleeping. Past few days, BB was busy at night, and I was also very uncomfy. Ended up, sleepless night.

Last week, I had fresh young coconut water!!!! Ppl say 3rd trimester already, can have it once in a while. A friend of mine had coconut water since day one of her pregnancy. But this is not advisable at all, by the oldies.

Mom has also been asking me to boil Snow Jelly. So today I did it. Bought 10g at RM28.50 and it's good to boil 2 times. Each time it can serve 2.

Started the antenatal class at Sunway Medical by Sister Chong and Alice Wong (midwife, breastfeeding nurse). First class started on 22/Nov and we were thought by Sister Chong for bonding with BB. The second class was conducted by Alice Wong and she lectures on Labour. Learnt quite a bit on labour process. Pretty good class. Drinks and snacks are served in each class. :) Another 2 more class to attend...... by then, I am even nearer to the EDD.

Baby's stuff .... for BB's arrival

I have managed to get all these above for BB's arrival.
Oh, I think there's more stuff not taken in this photo. :P One of it is the mosquito net for playpan. But I'm going use it for BB's cot or on the bed.
My sis pass down a playpan for me. This I'll put in MIL's house for BB's 1st month and also long term.
The BB clothes seen in the drawer is mostly from my SIL. So far I've only bought 2bibs, 1 pair of clothes and 2 pairs of botties and a cap for BB.
The Sterilizer we go here is a good deal. RM170+ with 10% discount, moreover it comes with a bottle/food warmer.
There are still stuffs to get definitely......... but pocket already empty. :P I NEED SPONSORS NOW. :)

My tummy at week 29/30

Kinda pointed right ? Ppl has been telling me pointed can means BB boy. :P But lets see later.
Waist size to belly button = 39in.

Memory..... Dory-alike :)

Lately, I feel like I'm not able to focus much and tendency to have very short term memory. Luckily this is for daily stuff and not much affecting on my job.

Breastfeeding Seminar

Both Anderson and I attended a private Breastfeeding Seminar on 15Nov organized by TeenyTinyTapir at Ampang (www.tinytapir.com). The talk is given by Gina Yong, a qualified breastfeeding consultant.

Gina Yong, the breastfeeding / lactation consultant was trained in the USA and she gives a great informational talk which is so useful. I find that I have learnt quite a bit in all sorts of things, not just breastfeeding through her seminar. She even visits to hospital if we require her too (in KlangValley only) and charges RM100 per visit, or was it per hour (?)... hehe.

Basically this is what both of us learn from her yesterday.
  • Why Breastfed is Best fed
  • How to Get Started the Right Way
  • How Milk Gets from Breast to Baby
  • Correct Positioning and Holding of baby
  • Correct Latch-On (it should not be painful!)
  • Avoid Breastfeeding Common Problems – Engorgement, Sore Nipples etc
  • How to Increase Your Milk Supply
  • How to know if your baby is getting enough milk
  • Daddy and the breastfed Baby

BB 7th ultrasonic scan - week 27-28

This week, BB weights 1.08kg.
BB is overall doing well. Dr did another check on the gender and this time, he says one line between two thighs.... it's a shape of a hamburger.... and if boy, we call it cigar.....
soooo funnie..... :)

This week around also, I have officially stepped into 3rd trimester. WHOA!!!!! Time flies....
In another 2-3months, BB arrives. :)

Dr is scheduling another check up for BB 3 weeks from now.

Dry skin on tummy

Since I couldn't re-apply the Palmer's Cocoa butter, I notice that my skin is getting dry and peeling also. But one good thing, the rashes is gone.
I am worried of rashes so did not try new brands. So, later after delivery... stretch mark all over ???

BB car seat

Finally sometime spare to complete this blog.

Got a babycar seat from Sogo-MBB card warehouse sales on Oct12.
The brand is from Sweet Cherry.
We were at first unsure and undecided if we should already be getting a BB carseat or just a carrier basket/BB carrier for a start.
Since this carseat design is reclineable to 45degree position and material is not bad too, we finally decide to get it.
Usual price is about RM350 or more. The offer price is RM269. I have MBB card voucher of RM100. So I only pay RM169 for this carseat. Not a bad deal. :)

Since BB would be quite small still for the carseat, we'll need to add in more spongy/pillow to support BB. Plan to get the Head and neck support from Bumblebee.

BB 6th ultrasonic scan - week 24

This week, BB is facing up, lying in the womb. Her face is very near to the upper wall. We can only see her side face. Mr Daddy says he could see being moving her lips (close/open mouth) and her nose too.
This week, BB's weight is approx. 700g.
Lately BB actively kicks and moves inside the womb. :)
This week, Dr confirms the gender again. As he focused at that area, he told us it is one line. :)

My tummy at week 24

Tummy is around 35.5 inch measuring around the belly button. Weight at 56.7kg.

Rashes

When my fever was almost over, my tummy developed rashes.
The rashes just spread on my tummy, circulating the belly button for size of maybe 5cm from belly button top, to 5cm belly button bottom, and left right of about 8cm.

Company GP prescript me Calamine lotion and pills to eat. The pill is Piriton. I did not take the piriton but just applying the calamine lotion. But it was sooooooooo itchy, i actually need to scratch!!!!
After few days couldn't bear anymore, I went to see another GP, and this GP also prescribed me Piriton, at the same time a cream to apply on the rashes itchy spots. It's called Beprosone.
I'm not sure if Beprosone is really effective but the itchiness is gone after 2-3days and slowly healing now.

I tried applying back the Palmer's lotion. Only applied a small quantity and I felt some itchiness after that. Again I'm not sure if I'm just thinking of it, or if I'm actually sensitive towards Palmers.

Terribly sick

I finally had to go through this pain during pregnancy.... Fever + Throat Infection + Flu + Phlegm + Running nose + Warm body...... countless......
It started on Thursday 18/9 morning and I waited till 230pm to see company's panel doctor, well, I thought I could wait........ but when the clock showed 12pm, I was already almost dying in office...... it was getting more serious.
Anyway managed to wait, and got panadol, antibiotic and lozenges from the doctor and my MC for Friday. I left office at 3.30pm, leaving a note to my both my bosses.
While at home, I straight away soaked myself under my comforter and slept. Almost 6-7pm, I was terribly HOT, sweating...... and then also i could felt BB kicking. I was very worried that BB was also feeling as hot as me. So I am very regret now that I actually soak myself to sweat.
I wasn't getting any better even on Friday. In fact on Friday afternoon I was feeling slightly better but by evening, it strike again. Mr Daddy got me to see a nearby Gynae (Megah Specialist Center) to confirm BB's condition and Thank God, BB is alright. The Gynae adviced me that I'm able to take panadol of not more than 1g/dose and not exceeding 4g a day. Lozenges is safe to be taken, but put the antibiotic aside, as not necessarily needed.
Actually I was also taking panadol only with very low dose and one-two lozenges.
The gynae also assured me I should be feeling better on Sunday. And I should be lowering down my body temp with wet cold cloth, short bath, clearing throat with honey and drink more fluid.
Today is Sunday and I do feel better except my sore throat now turns to running nose and having on and off headache.
I'm glad it's going to be over..... it was terribly uncomfortable and uneasy.............

I felt BB movements!!!!

Today 15th Sept, at between 3-4pm, I was sitting in KLM's auditorium listening to a workshop by Prismark.
I felt something alike wind in the tummy - slightly above the belly button, on the right.
However it came constantly few times and I was pretty sure that's BB's movements. :)
When it came more consistent, I put my palm on the spot and my palm felt the movement, like soft tapping/punching - twice in splits seconds. :)
It lasted 5-10mins.

As I'm typing this, 10.21pm, I'm feeling it again. :) So happy. :)
Now Mr Daddy's palm is on my tummy. He felt it too. :)
Now the movement is on the lower right of the tummy.

BB 5th ultrasonic scan - week 20+

Visited Dr Wong again for the monthly antenatal check.
This time BB is about 20weeks.
The ultrasonic scan now shows clearly BB's internal organ, and BB is also growing and one spot scan cannot get the full BB image.
During this scan, we see the full structure of BB and Dr commented the internal organs are all OK. Both Dr and MrDaddy also observes BB grasp her fingers (open/close) while moving her hand near to her ear/head.
I was hoping to see BB's face however this week, BB was lying face down in the womb. No chance to see.
We ask Dr for the gender again and Dr confirms again - BB girl. :)

After the check up, Dr made some measurements and concluded BB's weight is now about 350g, which is normal. :)
Dr says since I'm quite thin originally, then the ultrasonic scan this time reveals the internal organs of BB clearly enough for him to do the checkups. So I am not scheduled to do check up at Damansara Fertility Center HQ at Uptown. Initially Dr say in 5th month or so, a thorough checkup of BB organ would need to be done in HQ as they have more sophisticated machine there. But this week's checkup tells him I don't have to go to HQ.

I'm prescribed Sangobion and calcium pills.
Dr also recommended to take some fish oil tablet supplements. The brand which he recommended is NeurogainPB. It is up to my own choice if i want to take this supplement.
I decided to, so I bought a bottle from him at Rm56.
(then at home, after some research, I decided only to start the supplement next month. :) the fish oil is actually containing DHA, AHA etc for BB's brain development).

Stretch mark lotion & Headphone

Several weeks ago, I've got the stretch mark lotion/cream to apply on my expanding tummy. There are several brands available but I chose Palmers Cocoa Butter.
Anyway I bought a trial pack first just in case I might be sensitive to Palmers.
The pack above consist of 6 items - trial size.
Price about RM20.
I'm applying the cocoa butter every night time. Sometimes in the morning.
Nightly, MrDaddy will be applying it on my tummy, then at the same time talk and sing to BB.
Most often he sings Barney's song. haha...... :)

Also, MrDaddy got a headphone and loaded classical musics into the MP3.
Nightly, the headphone will be on my tummy and BB listens to about 3 pcs of classical music. :)
Perhaps later we'll try to record our own voice and let BB listens. :)

Baby movements

I haven't felt BB movements, now that I'm in my 19-20 weeks.
I hope this is normal as references says the movements should be felt starting 20weeks.

From babycenter.com :

When should I start to feel my baby move?

You probably won't feel your baby kick until sometime between 16 and 22 weeks, even though he started moving at 7 or 8 weeks and you may have already witnessed his acrobatics if you've had an ultrasound.

Veteran moms tend to notice those first subtle kicks — also known as "quickening" — earlier than first-time moms. (A woman who's been pregnant before can more easily distinguish her baby's kick from other belly rumblings, such as gas.)

Your build may also have something to do with when you'll be able to tell a left jab from a hunger pang. Thinner women tend to feel movement earlier and more often than women who carry more weight.

Sandals

I got a pair of this Auntie like sandals from Bata yesterday.
ooooo........ my other sandals all "koyak" already so it's time for a new pair and can be well used during pregnancy........
hehe......... very auntie look, really.... now that i'm wearing it............ i felt very auntie as well......
haha..
RM39.99 from Bata.

Dilemma......

...........Confinement lady vs MIL vs indo Maid vs bbsitter..........

Two cases :

1) during confinement
MIL vs confinement lady
MIL + Maid vs confinement lady

2) later stage
MIL vs bbsitter
MIL + Maid vs bb sitter.

Need to note, MIL is not that strong.

Some thoughts......

1) During confinement.
Maid is surely out of question lah if you expect her to cook for you and jaga your baby.
If your baby is very susah type, you don't want her to strangle it right ?
If your MIL is not the strong type, you also don't want to burden her.
If she falls sick half way, you want all your in-laws to blame you ?

Solution is only confinement lady.

2) Later stage
MIL : how much are you going to pay her per month ? Whatever amount you pay, you think it's enough ?
If she has different way of bring up a kid, are you going to "sound" her and end up having conflict with her ?
Maid : you have heard of all the scary stories. You just have to pray that you get a "good" one. But how much can you trust them ?
If you have one staying in your house, you don't have privacy.
If you want to go out, you either let her stay at home or tag along.
Loose freedom.
If you take a young one, maybe no experience to look after baby.
If you take one with kids, maybe always thinking about her children & home sick.
Only advantage is you get someone to do your housework. Quality wise--still again depends on your luck.
Baby sitter : depends on how well you know her family background & quality of service.
Child care : got any around your place ? Maybe better since later on can learn something at the center. But may have strict pick up time.

Mothers' and Baby's Fair - MidValley

We went to this fair on Saturday at Midvalley and it's like one stop center for Mothers-to-be and BB to even as to explore and gain knowledge of what the market now has to offer.

On that day itself, I bought :
1) 2 maternity/nursing bra from Fabulousmom.com - so called their most sellable model.
Priced at Rm70++ after 20% discount.
2) Spectra 3 breastpump set. 15% discount. Paid RM312.
3) Signed up with StemLife for BB cord cell banking. We consider the package as reasonable.
One time fee of RM2500 - fair promotion pay only RM1700.
Yearly fee of RM250 for 21 years. If pay in one lump sum, discount RM3000.
All payment are also available in interest free installment.
We also received 10pcs of RM250 discount vouchers. Anyone who is interested ?????

Photos to be loaded......

It's getting more obvious

On Thursday 21/Aug, 4 of my colleagues asked me if I'm preggie in one same morning.
The first who asked, is my group's colleague who asked while we were walking back together from breakfast. Question : In cantonese "ah... lei yau cho hai mm hai?"
Coming back to the office, I handed over my Medical Leave Cert to my dept secretary. Over the tall dividing partition, she asked me, in Malay : "Amoi, you ada orang dalam you ke?"
Then, while walking out from my office, met two of my other colleagues, both guys walking on the opposite direction, one of them was looking at me and tummy and asked, in cantonese "hmm, hoi chi dai cho ke?" The colleague next to him continued by saying something like "I also notice it, just that I did not wanna ask".

So, well.... BB / tummy speaks for herself. :) But I guess it would be better for me to break the news to my lady boss rather than she hearing from others. But how to tell ? No opportunity to approach her for a business talk, not to mention now, a casual talk.

Week 15++ --> Boy / Girl week

Aug 12, I visited Dr Wong for antenatal check for week 15++, 3 months plus.

As usual this is a normal check up but at this time of the pregnancy I'm required to do a blood test, which will help to determine my redblood cell level, HIV affected or not and several others.

I lie on the bed for the ultrascan, then I could see this time, my BB is upside down, BB's head is pointing downwards and the limbs are upwards. Can see BB's backbone clearly. The scan picture is not good enough to see BB's head.
This time around, BB measures 81.3mm.

As for myself, my body weight increased to 52kg. This means 2kg increase from the previous month.

My waist size is 31inch now. hehe.... kinda out of shape already. Overall now I can't go to work with my usual working clothes, but had to start wearing the looser types or the maternity top. Over the last weekend, I got from flea markets 3 loose tops - free size. Good enough to go work.

Dr Wong put the transducer to another spot on my tummy, he focused on another side of the BB and guess what... it is the lower part of BB, in which BB's gender can be well determined. Since BB is upside down, the image is clear enough to tell BB's gender. And Dr also said, 90% accurate.

Dr Wong asked me, what do I see.....
I say I don't know.
Anderson say Nothing.
hehe... Dr Wong say nothing = Hamburger.

So, what hamburger means ???? :)

Over that night Anderson has been in a quiet mode. I can see that his emotion has definitely changed after learning on the gender. Well, he had a preference earlier, so for this, he would have got a surprise. But who asked him to be so positively thinking of the other gender ?

Well, he say he would prefer the other gender for the first BB, but doesn't matter and will love the current one as much. Of course, when seeing him quiet, I'm sad. I was really really sad. I'm afraid he will not put in the same amount of attention and eagerness towards me and the BB anymore.

But he assured me at night, he was only surprised and shock of the news more over he did not expect to learn on BB's gender at this week, this visit. He will always love the BB.

This week, I'm continued with Sangobion, and Calcium pills.

BB bottles

Last Saturday, we went to Atria's BB shop to see for some BB items.
Since there's a sales going on, I decided to get some BB milk bottles.

My colleague told me about the B-free brand her newborn uses and it suits her a lot especially it is anti-colic.
Before this also, I read that some brands contains Bisphenol-A (BPA) a chemical substance used in all polycarbonate plastics. BPA may not transfer into liquid/food, and some study have shown so. Avent's bottles are polycarbonate. I was doubtful if i should get Avent. Because I have seen my SIL using it and I thought it is a trusted brand.

Anyway after comparing, Anderson decided to get B-free anti colic bottles. This is also BPA free. It comes with a sucking straw inside. I still do not know how this will work. :P (Dr Brown also have this same concept bottles).
We got a pair at retail price RM55.90 , entitled for 20% less.
9oz/250ml per bottle. Kinda big... but this is the only size the have.
One reason Anderson decided on that is because he says the teats are softer. haha......

At the same time too, I got some breast disposable pads also. It's on sale, so why not. buy one box free one box, for only RM27.
The bluebag in the picture is what Anderson got home few days ago. It's a cooler bag, so ideal for storing milks when going out.
This is redeemed from Bonuslink with 3000pts.
We saw similar bags in BB shops, and it cost over Rm100 at least.

My Tummy at Week 12 beginning

Can anyone tell me is this my spare tyre or is this the BB bump ???? hehe

Bird nest for the first time

Yesterday I had my first birdnest during pregnancy - 2nd trimester.
Mom got the stock for me - like over 30++ pieces at RM800.

However yesterday I boiled my old stock. Seeing that 1 piece is so small - i guess it shrinked - i put in 2.5pieces..... wow... end up a lot!!!!!!!!
I had to share it with Anderson else it will be really too much for me.

I only boiled birdnest itself. Then add in rocksugar. Later part, at night - the balance, i put in few pieces of pousam. :)

TongSum + KeiChee + HongZhou water

Mom got me all the ingredients past 2 weeks ago.
Yesterday night, I started to boil one pot with slow cooker.
Today one whole day I'm drinking it.
It taste nice. In fact, it taste exactly the taste of MIL's soup. :)

Mom asked to drink daily, then she say if lazy, drink 2-3times a week.
Reason being, bro's wife had it during her 3 pregnancies and the BB all came out good and pinky - red.
Actually, this is my SIL's recipe - not mom's. :)

Maternity Top

I got myself 4 of Scarlet's Maternity top in Jusco sales recently.
They are all discounted item. :)
But.... they are also auntie-looking.....
sigh... what to do.... I kiamsiap........ hehehehe

Will be at friend's wedding this Aug 30. Am asking Anderson to sponsor a nice dress. :)

Vomitting

Today it is my first time vomiting - with solid food - my lunch - wantanmee.
I was just feeling a little uneasy at my chest and walk to toilet - try to puke.
After one try - my food came out..... 3 times.......

Not sure if it is due to I had too much, or wind or simply feeling uncomfortable.
Now after the vomiting, I'm better.

Today also .... I am having headache - due to not enough sleep......???

Monday, July 21, 2008

I suddenly just weeped

Kinda wierd.......
Well, it's not totally a sudden, actually.
I was feeling uncomfortable the whole day, tired and nausea - due to wind.
Do not feel tummy was bloated but the feeling of vomiting is non-stop whole day -Sunday 20July.

At night when I got up to bed to sleep - it was early at 10pm plus.... i just felt so tired and weeped.... hmmm.... for about 10mins. Anderson was next to me, comforting.......
After that I just felt 'better'.

Weird........

BB 3rd scan - 11weeks 6days

On 17July, I made my 3rd visit to Dr Wong for BB's check up.

As usual it takes about an hour to reach Kepong and we waited for about 45minutes before it is my turn for check up ~ 745pm.

This week, by manual counting, BB is 13weeks already. However by ultrasonic scan which then determine the age by the bb's length - BB is officially 11weeks6days.

When DrWong start putting the transducer on my tummy, I quickly observe the monitor to see my BB. It was so surprised to me that BB is already 'big'!!! And BB already have the basic shapes!!!! As I observe, I was amazed that BB is almost bouncing and dancing in my womb. BB's MOVING!!!!! :) :)

This week, BB measures at 51.8mm. It grows almost 3cm from 3 weeks before. Dr say it's healthy.

Anderson, from the back uttered a question - "is the BB moving?"
Dr Wong gave an assurance that BB is moving freely in the womb as there are ample spaces for it. :)
Dr Wong only measures BB's length when BB's position is almost lying flat on the womb.

Later, Dr explain on the Down Syndrome check. The most simplest test and with 70% detection rate is to measure the fluid thickness behind the BB's neck. This procedure can only be done from week 11 till week 13+6days. It is called as Nuchal Translucency Test.

Dr measured my BB's fluid thickness and it is 1.1mm. This measurement shows BB is OK and normal. I'm glad. :)
Dr says a measurement of more than 3mm would be abnormal and having risk of DownSyndrome.
When this happen a thorough check using blood will need to be conducted.

We went out for consultation and I told Dr that I'm constipated - feeling that the Obimin is giving the hard time. Dr doesn't really believe so, but advised me to take prune, prune juice and lots of vege + fruits. However, he also then prescribed me another type of MultiVits since I complaint. hehehe.
This time, I'm given Sangobion - from Merck.

Ah, my body weight is now 49.7kg. Increased of 300g from the 2nd visit measurement.
Wow.... ate a lot, 300g..... hehehhehehe

The next visit would be on Aug14.
Next round I'll be tested for anemia.

My first maternity pants

I finally bought 2 pieces of maternity pants.
Got them at Mother'sClub in MidValley.

Being the first time, I seriously do not know how to shop for one. I even ask the shop attendant, do I still follow the sizes I normally wear. haha........
And the answer is Yes. So I look for 'S".

So there are few types of designs that are available.
1) Soft Stretchy material in front - adjustable / non adjustable
2) Soft Stretchy material at the side - adjustable / non adjustable
3) Stretchy pants with no additional soft material - non adjustable
4) Low waist - non adjustable

I was looking at those type (1) then the girl introduce me (4). I told her, I don't like low-waist pants. hehehe
So i tried 3 of those type (1) and type (3). It's very odd to wear type (1) especially when the tummy is still small. So the girl told me, for this type, the top must be longer till hips.
Type (3) which I tried, unfortunately, the girl told me cannot last very long, as when the tummy grows, the pant can expand but till certain size only. So, forget it la.

Finally, the girl suggest me to try the low-waist type. I tried. And it is comfortable. The tummy is set 'free' not wrapped. :)

Finally bought two pcs, one type (1) and one type (4). Both come to a total of rm160.

Hot Flushes

This morning I got up with my whole body warm.
As usual I point this to Anderson and the same comment comes to me. Sigh...
The comment is "You must be eating a lot of chilly yesterday".
haiiiii......... since when I had chilly yesterday. I eat what he ate..... only the afternoon time i had chicky rice with the chicky rice chilly.....

Anyway, it's normal after reading through some articles... and seems no way of preventing it. :(

Hot Flushes
What is it? In pregnancy, the body's metabolism increases causing extra heat to be produced. This in turn, causes the blood vessels to dilate with extra blood. This condition of feeling hot and flushed is called hot flushes and may be especially strong in summer.
What to do? You cannot stop hot flushes but can definitely make yourself more comfortable by wearing loose, cotton clothing. Also remember to dress in layers so that you can remove layers as you get hot.

Are hot and cold flushes part of pregnancy?
Answer
Yes, it's very common and it's because your body is going through hormonal changes. Hang on! You're just fine as long as you keep your doctor's appointments.
If the hot flashes bother you put the underside of your wrists under cold water and you'll feel much better, or place a cold, damp face cloth on the back of your neck. If you have long hair pull it up in a pony tail and keep it off your neck. Dress in light maternity clothes and layer with other clothing. Put a cardigan over-top and if you get too hot you can always take it off and feel cool again. There are also some good gel lotion products out there that have a cooling effect. You can go to any major drug store and ask the girl at the cosmetic counter. Have cool showers once or twice a day and be sure to use a good moisturizer (especially on your tummy) to help with stretch marks.

Hot Cold Hot Cold

Yesterday in office, I felt so mood less in the morning and also cold. Then a while I felt feverish.
So, decided to see Dr at night - with the intention for MC today. :)

Great.... Dr (a normal GP) gave me one day MC. He say I only have very mild fever. But it's normal to be feverish during pregnancy... Hot Cold Hot Cold.....
Since I have no sickness, he only gave me panadols, take 1/2 biji. But I decided not to take any.
Also prescribed me Folic Acid since he knows I'm preggie.
I told him I am on Obimin now, but he say i could actually skip that till 3rd month onwards. One reason I couldn't pass is also due to Obimin, as it is high in iron content.

No wonder..... When i started Obimin, I felt constipated....

Going to 3rd month

I am on my 11th week now and soon 1st trimester is over. Wow.... so fast.
Am I supposed to be able to notice my BB tummy now ?
I still can't differentiate..... - the spare tyre, the wind, the constipatation that made my tummy big and the BB bump..... hehehe

Was in Jusco to scout for some bigger pants. Scarlet's maternity pants is way out for me now as the stretch part is in front.... how am i supposed to know it will grow how big ? Now, maybe too small.......
V-Mum : better - stretch part at the side, but RM99 for one pair of pants. Expensive.

Last weekend too, Anderson managed to buy two baby posters from Toy-R-Us. One of it the baby is very cute. :)

I have no special crave for food now. Past few weeks I only think of eating this and that and till far, I have got my bites on Malacca Chicky rice ball - thanks to Cindy for buying all the way from Melaka and Kepong steamboat. All are good. :)
Hmmm, but i have bought TomYam install noodle at home, can't wait to eat them... just no time. :)
oh.... I hope Anderson doesn't fail me this Saturday 12/July - Jalan Alor 'tinkaichok'. :) SLURP!!

Jasmine's family got to know....

Today 28th June 08, Anderson called up my mom to tell her about the news. It was before 6pm.
So I practiced with him in Hokkien "Ma, lu ai po de chap le shun bo?"
Haha..... it means direct translation "mom, do you want to carry 10th grandchild?"
He had to repeat 2-3times before mom realized what he say and answered "AI" (want).

Mom talked to him for about 10mins. Mom say cannot eat pisang emas, cannot eat grass jelly. And told to cook black chicken with some herb (tongkuai??) as supplement.
Mom was excited with the news according to Anderson. Was all good when Anderson told her I'm OK with no morning sickness and can eat A LOT!!! haha....

Then mom talk to me.... well, mom also agreed compliments also go to Giorgio (my puppy of 6 months) who could have given us luck to conceive. :) .... as she said ppl who normally can't adopts and could..... :p

Called papa 10mins later.... his reaction as usual.... "ha.... ok.... ha....."

At about 8.30pm, Weywey called and asked if the BB girl or boy. :)
At about 9pm, Andrew called to congratulate and was very happy about the news.

I think Mom must be very happy. :)

BB 2nd Scan - 2nd visit to DrWong

This is my BB 2nd scan. This time scan estimated at 8 weeks 4 days. And by the new date I provide to Dr, the EDD is now officially 1st Feb 2009. Ahem!!!
(however it could be also end of Jan09, sounds like double celebration for me - CNY-mah :p)
I visited Dr Wong 2nd appointment on 26June08. Appointment was brought forward to 730pm and this time it was punctual. Perhaps it is because Dr Wong has a delivery at night to attend to. ??? Anyway, doesn't matter, as long as my waiting time is cut short.
This time, the ultrasonic done is only surface abdominal scan. I was still "gong-gong" when the nurse asked me to get ready. I almost took off my pants till she stopped me. hehehe....
This time, just lie on the bed and do abdominal scan on my belly. No need to be 'raped' by the transducer.
This is because Dr say it is almost 9 weeks so should be able to see the embryo thru this scan.
However this scan is not as clear as the vaginal scan where the transducer is inserted into the body.
Dr Wong explains on the BB's condition and measured BB's length from head to buttock. It is now 20.8mm and Dr say BB's is growing normally. :)
Then, Dr Wong let us listen to BB's heart beat.
When he on the speaker, we heard "boopboopboopboop" repeatedly and rapidly. It was soooooo fast!!!!! It's so amazing!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Dr say normally would be about 160beats/min, almost double of that of an adult.
This time, I am prescribed 3 dose of Duphaston. Only for 3 days. One day one biji.
And also multivits, which they call it "Obimin" - pinkish red color. 21pcs, one per day.
My next appointment is 17th July 08. Was supposed to be 24th, but we bring it forward as we are not free on 24th. Dr advised to do DownSyndrome test on the next visit.

BB 1st Ultrasonic scan

This is my BB's first scan. It's done on the first visit on the 5th of June 08 - vaginal scan.
At this time, the BB (embryo) is only 2.5mm in length. I could see heart beat also.
From scan, this is 5.5weeks.

Anderson is tired.....

Could he be suffering from 'Symphatetic Pregnancy' - Couvade Syndrome ???

He looks and feels more tired than before I announced I'm preggie.
2 weeks ago, he even mentioned he felt nausea.

Me on the other hand do not have morning sickness. Now I'm two months I'm still OK.
I don't quite have nausea feeling except when I was 6-7 weeks, I was not comfy after lunch.

I felt tired only at night, after work hours.

uhhh.... am I expecting ????

So how did i find out ?

My regular flow of 30 +/- 2 days was late this month in May. It is supposed to be around 19-22May.
Goodness. I actually did not recall the 1st day of my normal flow in April!
Anyway, as I was one week late and a chat with my ex colleague has given me some thoughts of home testing it.
I told her I would only test two weeks after AV is delayed.
As day pass by, I felt that my tummy is bloated up. I pass wind sometimes and I had some cramps.
The symptoms are just like when my normal cycle were to come. Also my boobs sore a little. It's not comfortable.
hmmmm.... But like I have said, it's nothing really new. I do encounter these in the normal months.

My friend on the other side keep persuades me to home test. I refused and on Thursday May 29, I suddenly had a feeling it is 'true'.
On my way home, I drop by Guardian and picked up a box of Clearblue Test kit (2pcs).
As soon as I reached home, I told Anderson about the test kit.
He wasn't very excited as he has mentioned he doesn't quite trust the kits.
Anyway, I went ahead testing.
I collected my urine in a disposable cup and then I dipped in the ClearBlue Test kit.
I have Anderson as my clock, counting till 5secs when I dipped. However I increased till count of 10. :)
I lay the test kit flat and slowly observe the results.
As Anderson and I was looking at the result window, we slowly see that a strong vertical line is appearing, while a the horizontal line remains.
We both then giggled - Have we striked the jackpot ?

Anderson did not want to believe much in it, as he only would if the test is done like after 2 months or by doctor's confirmation.
Anyhow, I have already quite trust the results as I'm feeling the symptoms.
I put the results aside and continue to be normal. :)

The next day, I informed my friend. She told me to take the result 100% and get a Dr to confirm that.
I don't know why but I did not really wanna follow that.
I was quite uncertain and mixed feeling.
Anyway friend advised to she had her check ups at Damansara Fertily Center, so I decided to give the clinic a call and make an appointment.
Since my friend visited Dr Wong, I decided I must see this Dr too.
As I needed a night clinic, I have to visit to Kepong Branch.
Surprisingly, I sms Anderson to confirm if it's ok to go that far, he replied me "OK".
wow......
So, appointment fixed on June 5th, 8.30pm.

I did another home test on June 3rd, with morning urine to confirm the home test.
This time, I only dipped 5 sec and lay the stick flat.
The window screen observation is the same as my 1st time.
I went to check ClearBlue website and the picture showed is clearer, and exactly like my results. :)

On Thursday 5June, here comes the big day.
I returned from work early, reaching home before 6pm.
Anderson was earlier. While I reached at 545pm, he was already sitting in front of the TV, bathed.
I guess he can't wait to get the true results.

We arrived early at Kepong, before 7pm. So we had our dinner at JayaJusco Prima.
By 740pm, we were back to the clinic and I started to register.
There was like 5-6 couples there already.
The registration nurse called me in to register my details and asked some private questions.
It was weird for me for a first-timer. :P
Then soon I was out waiting for the Dr's turn.
It was almost before 9pm I could have my turn with Dr Wong.
Surprising enough too, Anderson did not show much temper that night. :)

When I went in, Dr Wong greeted both of us with a smile and asked us to sit.
He asked so 'you're pregnant' and many other questions.
I only answered "I suspect". :P
Dr Wong explain that he will do a vaginal scan to confirm for me.

Soon, the nurse asked me to go to a corner. And there was a monitor, some gadgets and a bed.
Nurse ask me to take off my pant and panty. Errr....
I did as were asked then laid on top of the bed and the nurse cover my lower part with a piece of cloth.
Few mins later, Dr Wong walks in.
He started to explain to me the process. I was scared and asked him can my hubby come in to see ?
Dr Wong laughed but explained that sure he could but just that he'll need to have the procedure right before hubby comes in.

So, what did Dr Wong did ?
I saw him holding a big transducer.... then applied some jelly on it.
Quickly he covered the transducer with a piece of condom and apply another layer of jelly on the condom.
Then, the moments come. I was like being raped, the transducer entered me!!!!
Then Dr Wong called in my hubby.
I stared closely at the monitor. Black greyish screen... and I saw my womb.
Dr Wong examine a while and said "Congratulations, so you are really pregnant'.
I wasn't surprised by then as I tried looking more at the screen.
Dr Wong point to a part were there was some blinking. He told me that is the embryo's heart beat!
IT ALREADY HAS A HEART BEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dr Wong measured the embryo size. It was 2.5mm. Normal size.
I do not know how Anderson felt that time, but I hope he was excited.
Well he normally can't show his real feelings...........

I got dressed and went back for DrWong's consultation.
By the date of my last menstrual, he manually calculated the embryo's age is 6weeks plus.
However the scan picture showed 5weeks 5 days.
Dr Wong explained he will confirm again in the next visit.
I'm asked to visit for check up in 3 weeks time.
He also roughly calculated that my EDD will be end of January. :)

Meanwhile, he supplied me with Duphaston 10mg and Folic acid.
I also got the scan photo of my little embryo. :)

Two days later, Anderson got me a can of Enfamama A+. :)
started drinking on 7th June08. Didn't quite like the taste at first but now it is all alrite. :)

So when did he break it to his Mother ?
It was as soon as the next day - Friday that he told his mom.
Well, what to do, he told me the mother cooks dinner for me sometimes so she has to know!
I wasn't around when he tells. I was told the mother's reaction is smiling and said "GOOD".
haha..... oh well..... she reminded I can't eat GrassJelly and Watermelon.

I'm not ready to tell my parents yet. I'm gonna wait till my 2nd check up before telling them.
